「平凡的人，平凡的生活，獨特的社區經驗」

不少人也覺得香港這地方很小，然而在這彈丸之地：有人在舊區內每天走幾層唐樓梯，同時也有人路過新市鎮的走廊；有人住在都市內的高樓，也有人住在鄉郊的平房；有人的生活走不出家門的十五分鐘步行，有人的生活是每天地長途跋涉。

我們生活在同一地方，但又不完全是。各區經歷發展變遷，致使每人的居住經驗獨特。

我們想像的「家」、「社區」、「城市」，又如何因這些居住經驗而變化？

「同一片土地 不同的城感——街坊的影像對話」

展覽將會展出「不．同城誌」系列紀錄片、影行者多年來與城或鄉的街坊共同創作的短片選輯。此外，展覽中亦有一個影像裝置「她／他／牠／它的城」，以及與社區友好合作的延伸活動。

DIALOGUE OF PLACES, THE EXHIBITION – BY V-ARTIVIST, 2021

Hong Kong is a small place in the eyes of many people. In this small place, some people hustle up and down staircases in tonglau of old districts, while some people walk along long corridors of public housing blocks in new town. Some live in densely packed high-rise buildings while some live in houses in small villages. Some people’s everyday lives are within 15-minutes walk from their home, while traveling is ordinary to many others.

Are we living in the same place, with such diverse everyday experiences?

Mega developments throughout Hong Kong history shapes the landscapes and community of different districts.

How are perceptions and concepts of “home," “community," and “the city" condensed from individual’s unique everyday experiences?

To engage more people in the above discussions, we will be showcasing the documentary films of the project “dialogue of places," and “earth, the multitude," as well as short videos co-produced by v-artivist with different communities in old districts of Hong Kong in the exhibition. Furthermore, we also set up an participatory visual installation and other community art programs as parts of the exhibition.

As we need to arrange for English-speaking docent for your visit, a reservation is needed. You may make a reservation by the form in our linkre.ee (see bio).

All audience and participants are required to follow the arrangements regarding the prevention of COVID-19 including body temperature checking before entry and filling in a health declaration form.

你認識香港的移民家務工嗎？

主流新聞對她們的報導離不開一些恆常的關鍵字：「搏炒」、「最低工資」、「虐打」，隨著疫情爆發還有「病毒」。社交媒體討論區則圍繞「好姐姐/壞姐姐」製造茶餘飯後的話題。這些字眼和你認識的她們有不同嗎？是家中特別的一員，星期日擦身而過的身影，交功課訪問的對象，還是其他？如果是你，又會怎樣書寫她們（和自己）的故事？

移工共行委員會（移共委）一路走來，屢受鼓舞，互相扶持，體認彼此的枷鎖與力量，誠邀你同行。

how do you understand migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong?

there are several keywords surrounding them in the mainstream news reports: “job hopping”, “minimum wage”, “abuse”, and “virus” – a new hit resulting from the outbreak of COVID-19. social media never stops making fun of “good v.s. bad domestic workers”. are these different from your understanding? what else can they be? a special member of your family, a stranger you pass by on the street on a sunday, an interviewee of your assignment, or others? if it were you, how would you write their stories (and yours)?

migrants solidarity committee (misocom) has come a long way together with migrant domestic workers, constantly inspired and mutually supported, recognizing and sharing our chains and power. now let’s find our path together.
